Accounting (Tenure-track, Assistant/Associate Professor)

The College of Business Administration at Central Michigan University is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position in the area of Accounting starting in August 2008 or January 2009.  Principal responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in two of the following areas: accounting systems, financial accounting, and managerial/cost accounting.  Normal teaching load, which could include some on-line teaching, is nine credit hours per semester.

Required:  A doctorate from an AACSB accredited business school with a major or concentration in Accounting, or ABD and in the final stages of dissertation completion; evidence of teaching excellence in accounting courses at the college/university level; and a strong research agenda; teaching philosophy consistent with the college's learning-centered and business-connected mission.

Preferred:  Demonstrated high quality scholarly achievements commensurate with experience; accounting industry experience; and competency in SAP and/or Six Sigma or a willingness to undertake professional development in one or both of these areas.  A professional certification (CPA, CMA, CIA) and evidence of on-line course development and delivery are also preferred.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications.  Application review will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
