Speech-Language Pathology (Ten-month, Full-time, Tenure-track, Assistant/Associate Professor)
The Department of
Communication Disorders seeks a tenure-track faculty at the
Assistant/Associate Professor rank beginning August 2008.
Applicants wishing to be considered for appointment at the rank of
Associate Professor must state this desire clearly in their cover
letter. They must have held a position as an Assistant
Professor for a minimum of four years and present evidence of
teaching excellence and a record of scholarly activity for
consideration.
Duties: Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, and
supervise graduate and undergraduate student clinicians providing
speech-language pathology services; advise students; maintain an
agenda of scholarly activity culminating in externally reviewed and
published material; and provide service to the department, college,
and university.
Qualifications: Earned doctorate degree required, ABD
considered but doctorate degree must be imminent, CCC-SLP required. Excellent oral and written communication
skills required. Expertise preferred in one or more of the
following areas: child phonology, child language, adult neurogenic
disorders, and voice disorders, although other areas considered.
Clinical supervision experience and teaching experience desired.

of four academic departments/schools (Communication Disorders, Health
Sciences, Physical Education and Sport, and Rehabilitation and Medical
Sciences). It offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in
audiology, communication disorders, community health education, health
services administration, school health education, physical therapy,
physician assistant, exercise science, substance abuse prevention,
health promotion, speech-language pathology, physical education, sport
studies, sports medicine, athletic coaching and sport administration

The Department of Communication Disorders (CDO) has a faculty/staff of
28, and an enrollment of 100 graduate and 180 undergraduate students.
CDO's academic and clinical programs are accredited in both
speech-language pathology and audiology by the Council on Academic
Accreditation (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
(ASHA). Over 5,000 clients are seen annually, including 60+
participants in the Summer Specialty Clinics program.
