Anatomy or Anatomy and Physiology (Ten-month, Full-time, Tenure-track, Assistant/Associate Professor)
The Exercise Science Division in the School of Health Sciences at
Central Michigan University (CMU) is recruiting for a full-time,
ten-month, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor, beginning August
2010. The CMU School of Health Sciences offers undergraduate and
graduate degrees and is located in The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow
College of Health Professions. Rank and starting salary is
commensurate with qualifications and experience. Attractive

Qualifications:
Required: Earned doctorate in Human Anatomy, Anatomy
Education, or related field required.
Preferred: Experience teaching anatomy in clinical
programs; demonstrated successful college teaching; experience in
anatomy and physiology education; and evidence of scholarly work that
has the potential to lead to external funding.
Desirable: Evidence of involvement with professional
associations and organizations; proficiency in use of technology;
effective oral/written communication skills; demonstrated leadership
skills; and demonstrated commitment to diversity.
Responsibilities:
Teaching. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in
anatomy and physiology which may include: Gross Anatomy, Systems
Anatomy, Anatomy and Physiology, Human Physiology, Pathophysiology,
Histology, etc.
Research. Conducting research and scholarly endeavors that
lead to external funding; directing undergraduate and graduate research.
Advising. Involvement in campus and community service;
advising undergraduate and graduate students.

The Health Administration Division in the School of Health Sciences at

twelve-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor, beginning August 2010.

Required: Earned doctorate in appropriate field related
to healthcare.
Preferred: Academic training and expertise in health
economics, social/behavioral epidemiology; quantitative methods, and/or
healthcare finance; ability and understanding of online educational
learning and teaching; knowledge of the healthcare field and
professions; demonstrated research agenda based on published works and
external funding; quantitative and qualitative research skills; record
of membership and activity in professional organizations related to
healthcare; demonstrated successful college teaching; and demonstrated
commitment to advancing diversity.
Desirable: Previous work with students doing research,
including experience with thesis or dissertation committees; experience
or demonstrated interest in securing extramural grants and contracts;
experience working in the healthcare field outside of academic

Other Criteria: The successful candidate must be willing to
relocate to the central Michigan area. The position requires that
the individual be present on the main campus of Central Michigan
University to work with the other faculty and staff both in the Health
Administration Division of The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow College of
Health Professions, as well as with the College of Business
Administration.
Responsibilities:
Teaching. Teach courses at the undergraduate, graduate
and doctoral level based on qualification and expertise; teach both in
the online format and the classroom format; assume primary
responsibility in the Health Administration Division for being lead
faculty for the Healthcare Administration academic certificate and
concentration for the online MBA program in collaboration with the
College of Business Administration, including curriculum development of
the program; and perform other duties and responsibilities as needed to
maintain quality academic program.
Research. Conducting research and scholarly endeavors that
leads to securing extramural funding to support an ongoing research
agenda.
Advising. Involvement in campus and community service;
advising graduate students in the Healthcare certificate/concentration
in the MBA program, undergraduate students in the Health Administration
major and doctoral students in the Doctor of Health Administration
program.
