Physician Assistant Program - Program Director (Full-time, Twelve-month, Tenure-track, Assistant/Associate Professor)
Central Michigan University announces a full-time, twelve-month,
tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant/Associate Professor
level, depending on credentials, to begin September, 2008 or earlier.
The duties of this position involve classroom teaching, advising,
committee service, scholarly activity and other duties as assigned.
The required minimum qualifications for this position are: an earned
Master's degree, at least five years full-time (or equivalent part-time)
clinical medicine practice, NCCPA/ABMS/AOA certification/eligibility,
Michigan PA/MD/DO licensure/eligibility, excellent interpersonal,
written, and oral communication skills.
Desired qualifications include an earned doctorate, or substantial
evidence of progress toward completion of a doctoral degree.
(Partial tuition reimbursement is available for doctoral studies
undertaken at CMU.) A criterion for tenure is possession of a
doctoral degree from an accredited university. Preference will
also be given to those candidates with recent clinical and/or teaching
experience in one or more of the following areas: surgery, emergency
medicine, clinical procedures, radiology, hospitalist/internal medicine
and basic medical sciences. Well qualified candidates may also be
considered for the position of Physician Assistant Program Director.

Master of Science degree. The Program emphasizes the provision of
medical care to rural, underserved communities in central and northern
Michigan. The PA program was founded in 1996. It has a track
