English Education: Writing in the Elementary and Middle Schools (Tenure-track, Assistant Professor)
Tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of English beginning
Fall 2010. Course load is 3/3. The Department of English
Language and Literature has a vibrant English Education program and
faculty, including programs in elementary language arts, secondary
English, and a site of the National Writing Project.
Ph.D. in English or related field required by August 2010.
Expertise and ability to teach graduate and undergraduate methods
courses in the English Department, particularly "Writing in the
Elementary and Middle School Classroom," and college composition
required. Experience in elementary and/or middle schools, evidence
of effective teaching, and an active research program are required.
Research and teaching interests in complementary area of English
education, literacy, composition, and/or Children's Literature
preferred.

Composition and Rhetoric (Tenure-track, Assistant Professor)
Tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of English beginning
Fall 2010. Course load is 3/3. This position requires a
Ph.D. in English by August 2010.
Expertise and ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in
Composition and Rhetoric required. Sub-specialty areas might
include creative nonfiction, rhetorical theory, the history of rhetoric,
research methodology, new literacies, discourse studies, and/or feminist
rhetorics. Coursework in and/or experience with Writing Program
administration required. Demonstrated evidence of effective
teaching and an active research program are required.
