Public History and Museum Director (Tenure-track, Associate or Assistant Professor)
Central Michigan University invites applicants for the position of
Public History and Museum Director, full-time tenure-track, Associate or Assistant Professor, beginning Fall 2010.
This position will be divided between faculty and Museum Director
responsibilities. Appointment in the Department of History will
involve half-time teaching in the field of Museum Studies and U.S.,
Canadian, or Native American History. Appointment as director of
the university's Museum of Cultural and Natural History includes an
additional stipend provided for summer duties.
The ability to acquire external funding for support of museum programs
and collection is essential. Ph.D. in History, American Studies,
or Canadian Studies required with demonstrated expertise in Public
History.

letters of reference, evidence of successful teaching, relevant
scholarship, and relevant experience in directing museum work to:
