Director of the Statistical Consulting Center (Temporary)

The Statistical Consulting Center at Central Michigan University is to provide statistical expertise and support for the research of CMU faculty and graduate students.  Duties of this temporary faculty position are serving half time as statistical consultant and director of the SCC, and half time as instructor in the Department of Mathematics.  The appointment will begin on or before August 1, 2008.

Responsibilities include 1) conducting statistical data analyses related to grants and publications and also dissertation research, 2) hiring and supervising student-consultants, and 3) managing the Center budgets and reporting activities of the Center.

Required qualifications include 1) statistical consulting experience and M.S. or higher degree in Statistics or related areas, 2) strong knowledge of statistical principles and skills, 3) familiarity with common statistical programming languages such as SAS and SPSS, 4) effective oral and written communication skills, and 5) ability to organize and prioritize work.
